In early Summer of 2013, Sara and her girlfriends were getting ready for just another Rooftop Tavern night and planned to meet up with Jess’s boyfriend, Nathan and a friend of his, Bryce. Once there, Sara and Bryce met for the first time and spent the ENTIRE evening sitting at a table chatting, and watching their friends rip up the dance floor. After that night, they saw each other as much as possible throughout the summer, but Bryce never asked Sara out on a real date.. whomp whomp. Sara moved back to Thunder Bay in Mid-August 2013, for volleyball training camp. Of course, as soon as Sara was back in Thunder Bay, Bryce reached out to her and asked if he could finally take her out on a date, but it was too late..


4 years later, in August 2017, gearing up for the big Annual Born2Corn Tournament (shout out to Mitch!), Sara was on the team, Cornicators, and Bryce on the Amateur Corn Stars. Unfortunately, neither team would pull out a victory, but luckily, that didn’t bother them too much as Bryce and Sara’s paths would cross once again after years of not seeing each other. They spent another evening chatting the night away and reconnecting. Soon after, they went on their long awaited first date - dinner and a Winnipeg Jets game.


After a few months of dating, Bryce was offered a new position which would have him moving to Regina in February. They decided to give long distance dating a try, not wanting to miss out on their second chance. Sara and Bryce made the trips back and forth from Winnipeg/Regina every couple weeks for what felt like an eternity.


In August 2019, and after 14 round trip flights and countless road trips to see each other, Bryce got the exciting offer from his employer of a new position back in Winnipeg. A few short weeks later, he moved back to Manitoba and they bought a home together in West St Paul, where they spent time renovating their home, building a garden and (finally) spending some good quality time together!


In June 2021, they brought home their dog, Charlie and around the same time, found out that they would also be welcoming a baby girl, the following year. On March 1, 2022, their sweet girl, Maisie, was born and immediately became the light of their lives. 


Fast forward to Christmas Day 2023, after watching Maisie open all of her gifts, Bryce (with Maisie's help, of course), asked Sara to marry him. Sara's response was an immediate YES!


We can't wait to see where the next chapter of our lives takes us!
